An exhibit about why contemporary life is so difficult for so many. Invisible Forces features the work of artist-visionaries:  Kimathi Donkor, Laura Oldfield Ford, IOCOSE, Dave Miller, Edward Picot, and YoHa with additional game events, talks and workshops with Class Wargames, The Hexists, Olga P Massanet and Thomas Cade Aston.  The resulting mix of installations, digital video, net art, painting and drawings deal with conspiracy, money, politics, hidden signals and frustration fatigue.

The Bloomsbury Art Fair opens at Goodenough College, Mecklenburgh Square from 6-8 July 2012 showing a collection of painting and drawing, photography, print and sculpture for visitors to choose from in a relaxed atmosphere. The Art Collective will be offering for sale some select work from it's portfolio. The Bloomsbury Art Fair is a charity and profits from the fair will go to their three chosen charities for 2012: Motivation, Southern Spinal Injuries Trust and Walking with the Wounded. There is entry for invited guests on Wed 4th, a charitable gala on Thurs 5th and the fair is open to the public Fri 6th through to Sun 8th.

The Art Collective at the Bloomsbury Art Fair

The films and photographs of British artist Gillian Wearing (b. Birmingham, 1963) explore our public personas and private lives. This Turner Prize winner’s remarkable works draw on fly-on-the-wall documentaries, reality TV and the techniques of theatre, to explore how we present ourselves to the world.

Gillian Wearing - Whitechapel Gallery

An exhibition to mark the centenary of the birth of the British painter Keith Vaughan (1912-1977). Born in the nearby Sussex village of Selsey, Vaughan was one of the most significant artists of his generation, best-known for his painterly depictions of the male nude in the landscape.

SELPH offers people with recent experience of illness the unique opportunity to take photographs and use them to express and reflect on their experiences. It celebrates how modern media makes it easier than ever before to make and share images, and shows how this process of creativity and sharing can be good for personal and community wellbeing. The group runs as a voluntary collaboration between members, a photographer, social researcher and psychiatrist, and is supported by the Maudsley Charity.

SELPH - South East London Photography Group

Bringing together more than 170 photographs, this retrospective survey traces the artist’s career from the mid 1970s to the present. Cindy Sherman (American, b. 1954) is widely recognized as one of the most important and influential artists in contemporary art. Throughout her career, she has presented a sustained, eloquent, and provocative exploration of the construction of contemporary identity and the nature of representation, drawn from the unlimited supply of images from movies, TV, magazines, the Internet, and art history.

Modern and contemporary collection of paintings, photography and illustrations from the Art Collective portfolio. The Art Collective will return to Gallery40 in the Brighton Laines. The exhibit will introduce new painters Maria Kuipers and Patrick Lee, and will include work from: Susie David, Finn Dean, Kjell Folkvord, Ben Gold, Lance Hewison, Celine Marchbank and Pauline Richards. It is a chance to see a refreshing selection of artworks and purchase affordable art from award winning artists.

The Art Collective Exhibition

Tate Britain, London UK.

Picasso and Modern British Art explores his extensive legacy and influence on British art, how this played a role in the acceptance of modern art in Britain, alongside the fascinating story of Picasso’s lifelong connections to and affection for this country. It brings together over 150 spectacular artworks, with over 60 stunning Picassos including sublime paintings from the most remarkable moments in his career, such as Weeping Woman 1937 and The Three Dancers 1925.

Picasso and Modern British Art

Royal Academy of Arts, London UK.

The first major exhibition of new landscape works by David Hockney RA. Featuring vivid paintings inspired by the East Yorkshire landscape, these large-scale works have been created especially for the galleries at the Royal Academy of Arts. A major chronological retrospective that groups together significant moments of this remarkable painter's 50 year career. It includes portraits based on photographs such as the famous Betty 1988, abstractions, subtle landscapes, colour charts, works on pape, mirrors and three important glass constructions.
