Susie gained a BA in 1990 and then moved to Sicily for four years, exhibiting her gestural paintings in Sicily and mainland Italy. She returned to the UK, and in 2008 completed her MA at Plymouth University. It was during this period that she began her research into fluid indeterminacy, making close observations of bodies of water and exploring strategies that involved interaction with 'fluid chance'. We have two portfolios of work on display here 'hardboard flying whites' and 'marine outpours'. The works embraces the indeterminate to procure the unexpected, control being necessarily abandoned within each participatory process to encourage a work to arise.
